This shop is absolutely wonderful. There are so few shops like this around any more and we are 100% worse off for it. No website can compete with what you get here. Run by enthusiasts whose passion is contagious, they couldn’t be more generous with their time and knowledge. I love every visit, as do my son and daughter. I went in today with a RC car that wasn’t working, after 15mins of stripping it down they worked out the problem and supplied me with everything required to put it right (plus a few upgrades of course!), as well as an armful of balsa wood for a bit of Saturday crafting with the kids. A shop that I genuinely look forward to visiting every time I go. Thank you!

This is what you call a proper "Model Shop" with anything you could ever wish for and more.... it's a bit of a treasure ...and a treasure-trove! Als Hobbies ... I actually have no words to convey Als generosity ... especially helping me out with future vintage model aeroplane projects and research. A must visit... It's not just a shop ... It's an experience

Al's shop is wonderful, full of all sorts of models and modelling bits and pieces. The staff are so very, very helpful nothing is too much trouble. I have (Oct 23) had to ask for my RC Transmitter to be repaired as the screen had gone black in places. Their Spektrum technician fixed it without having to resort to a screen change. I am thankful because it saved me a packet! Great service yet again from Al's!!

Ali Hobbies, can’t praise them enough, The brothers are passionate about their business, honest, helpful, realistic, very knowledgeable, been in the business for 40 plus years. Walked me through the RC car types, how they are powered, discussed where and how you were going to use them, how they are controlled, how fast they can go, importantly, what you get for your money, I have used their tech/service support which was faultless. Their shop is a dream sweetie shop of lovely tech Radio Controlled cars, planes, helicopters, boats, tanks and goodies for all. If you’re getting into remote control stuff, building model plane’s, car’s, tanks etc, Ali's shop should be first on your list to visit, parking is generally not a problem and you can get reasonably close, if you have large goodies to take away with you. I will certainly be back shortly for a rather big RC monster truck, but which one will I choose mmmmm! There isn’t many things better than getting the whole family out in the fresh air and spending quality time together playing with you RC’s and it doesn’t matter what age you are or if male or female, just have loads of Fun! This is a little treasure trove of useful bits for modellers in all scales. I needed a gearbox for a motor long out of production. The friendly and helpful staff had a second hand item with a suitable gearbox. Only minor mods were needed to the motor and mounting. What was the likelihood of finding that on your doorstep? Support your local model shop!
